Tajoura is a coastal city located in northwest Libya, 11 km east of the Libyan capital, Tripoli. Thus, it is considered the eastern gate of Tripoli. It is bordered to the west by the Friday Market area, and to the east by Qara Raboli, Wadi Sidi Ali Bannour, “Wadi al-Raml”, and to the north by the Mediterranean Sea, to the south by the valleys of Wadi al-Rabi’. and the eastern valley.
Tajoura is characterized by a beautiful Mediterranean climate. at Latitude 32.88167 & Longitude 13.35056. Height above sea level is 6 meters. The population is approximately 325,836 inhabitants.
Hospitals are classified into several categories, including on the basis of the number of beds in the hospital, and they are classified according to the number of beds to determine the general need in the city, as it is considered that 4-3 beds must be provided for every thousand inhabitant in the city.
Therefore, we conducted a brief study of the number of hospitals in the cityon one hand and the main need for hospitals in the city was identified on the other hand.
Here are some figures that show the apparent shortage in the city of Tajoura of hospitals:
– 16 hospitals & sanatorium where most of them are a small clinics or a specialized hospitals.
– The population of the city of Tajoura is approximately 325,836 people. And as we mentioned previously, 4-3 families should be provided for every 1,000 inhabitants, and accordingly, the following will be:
325,836 inhabitant / 1000 inhabitant = 325 inhabitant
325 inhabitant * 3 beds = 977 beds
